About

Meagan is the name, events and writing are the game. From Hollywood to New York City my journey has been everything but normal.

Some years ago I got a rare invitation to attend a press screening for Paramount Pictures’ Jackass 3D at The Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel. Tasked with reporting on the excitement of a movie premiere, I ended up developing a lifelong love for producing events.

After the premiere I moved back to NYC, enrolled in a public relations program, and was granted the opportunity to intern at CBS Digital Media. There, I assisted with music news series, studio operations, artist management of musical acts Sheryl Crow, Hugh Laurie, and Cappadonna from Wu-Tang Clan, and host a radio show called The EDM Experience.

Then in 2013, one of my dreams came true—the opportunity to work for Insomniac Events’ for the Electric Daisy Carnival in New York and Chicago, under the title Experience Creator. Working ground operations for a music festival was pure bliss. It wasn’t easy at all but it was awesome.

My more recent works include Nightly News with Lester Holt, Meet The Press, SNL‘s Weekend Update at the DNC, Netflix’s The Who Was? Show, technology conferences,  Broadcasting and Cable Hall of Fame Awards, and Multichannel News’ Wonder Woman Awards.

I’m also published in the Journal of Social Sciences, credited for consumer perception and visual thinking. You can see how color can influence sales and behavior right here.

My vast background experience can throw folks off but I refuse to limit myself.

Kendrick Lamar is up for a Pulitzer for a hip-hop album and J.K. Rowling was turned down for believing that people would buy a book about a boy witch. Anything is possible. And in the words of our favorite Handmaid, “Don’t Let the Bastards Grind You Down.”

Lunar 1

When I’m not working on my next publication, I’m gardening, reading like 4 books, deepening my practice in yoga, playing with my kitten Luna,  or making vegan recipes. Follow me everywhere and shoot me a message for a follow back!

To be honest – I haven’t met anyone that regrets getting their masters, but I believe it isn’t worth the debt. If you can find a cost efficient way to go, go for it. If you can’t, then take a couple of night classes on subjects that are valuable in the field you want to develop in and spend time taking on volunteer opportunities to grow your reach. All any company cares about is experience not actual education (shocker.)
